What does Receipt mean?

In terms of credit card related usage, a receipt is the slip you receive at a point of sales terminal after you have paid for your purchases using your credit card. The statement will display important information such as the name of the acquirer, the account number and the value. It is important to note that federal law restricts since 1997 the displaying of the whole account number on a receipt from safety reasons; thus there is only allowed to display the last five numbers of your account on a document such as a receipt.
