What does ‘yield on earning assets’ mean?

The earning yield, in investment market related terminology is the percentage of pure earnings compared to what has been invested. Banking regulators check the current interest index, different fees and charges in order to be able to calculate the percentage of earning assets. It is similar to management of financial assets, only this is a formula specifically aimed to the investment market.
